Fossils

Fossil mammals such as Bemalamebda sp. and Mesonychidae are found in the formation.

Age

According to the paleomagnetic measurements, it is equivalent to Chrons C29r–C27 of the paleomagnetic time scale and its age is 65–61 Ma and the geologic age is early Paleocene. From the results of the paleomagnetic measurements of the cross section, the difference between the Upper Cretaceous–Paleocene boundary and the lithostratigraphic boundary is ~18 m.
